Welcome to my website! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working closely with children and families. As a dedicated psychotherapist, I specialize in providing invaluable support to mothers as they navigate the beautiful yet complex journey of motherhood.

Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges that can arise during various stages of motherhood. From the emotional toll of infertility to the anxiety experienced during pregnancy and the postpartum period, I am here to address and guide you through these unique challenges.

In addition to my expertise in supporting mothers, I have extensive experience working with parents who are raising children with autism. I understand the added stress and uncertainties that come with this journey and am committed to offering a safe and supportive space for you to explore your feelings, develop effective coping strategies, and navigate these challenges with resilience.

One of my areas of specialization is bonding and attachment. I firmly believe that fostering a strong bond between mother and child is crucial for their emotional well-being. Through our work together, we will focus on nurturing this bond and empowering you to thrive in your role as a mother, while also helping you find a sense of balance amidst the complexities of parenting.

I am truly passionate about supporting mothers and families, and I am dedicated to providing the guidance and tools you need to navigate this transformative journey. Together, let’s embark on a path towards emotional well-being and find joy in the remarkable adventure of motherhood.

I look forward to connecting with you and being a part of your journey.

Embracing the Depth of My Motherhood

My journey through motherhood has been a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with both joy and challenges. From the emotional struggle of infertility to not having the support of a mother figure and being married to a frequently absent service member, my path seemed daunting. And just when I thought I had overcome those hurdles, my cherished child was diagnosed with autism.

Raising a child on the spectrum brought isolation and challenges, but I refused to let them define our journey. I prioritized my mental health, body, and spirit through self-care practices and sought professional support. By redefining my role as a mother, I discovered that I could bond deeply with my child while also maintaining my own identity.

Through resilience and determination, I realized our journey is unique and beautiful. I found solace in a supportive community of parents who shared similar experiences. By nourishing my well-being, I created a foundation for my child to thrive. It's a balancing act that requires self-reflection and adaptation, but it has brought me fulfillment and purpose beyond the labels and challenges we face.

This is why I am passionate about working with moms. I want to offer them hope and support, reminding them that motherhood is a journey worth embracing despite the challenges. By sharing my own experiences, I hope to inspire others and reassure them that they are not alone. Together, we can navigate the complexities of motherhood, find strength in our struggles, and create a nurturing environment for our children to flourish.

Motherhood has taught me that we can overcome any obstacle through love, resilience, and unwavering determination. I am grateful for every step of this extraordinary journey we're on, and I am committed to empowering other mothers to find hope and fulfillment amidst the challenges of motherhood.

My Therapeutic Approach

In my therapeutic approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive space for my clients, specifically mothers, to explore their inner thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe in the power of a client-centered approach, where the client is viewed as the expert of their own lives. This means that my role is to provide guidance and support while allowing the client to lead the therapeutic process.

One key element of my approach is incorporating self-compassion. I encourage my clients to develop a kind and understanding relationship with themselves, fostering self-acceptance and self-care. By cultivating self-compassion, clients can navigate the challenges of motherhood with greater resilience and self-empowerment.

Mindfulness is another essential component of my therapeutic approach. I help clients cultivate present-moment awareness, allowing them to observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment. Mindfulness practices enable mothers to manage stress better, enhance emotional regulation, and increase overall well-being.

Solution-focused therapy techniques are utilized to help clients identify their strengths and resources. By focusing on solutions rather than problems, we work collaboratively to set achievable goals and explore practical strategies to overcome obstacles. This approach empowers mothers to tap into their innate resilience and find effective solutions to the challenges they face.

Additionally, I incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques into my practice. CBT helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that may be contributing to distress or negative patterns of behavior. By restructuring negative thinking patterns and implementing positive coping strategies, mothers can experience significant improvements in their mental well-being.

The outcomes of these therapeutic approaches are profound. Clients often report increased self-awareness, improved self-esteem, and enhanced emotional regulation. They develop effective coping skills to manage stress, anxiety, and depression, allowing them to navigate the demands of motherhood with greater ease. Clients also experience a stronger sense of empowerment and confidence in their ability to make positive changes in their lives.

Ultimately, each individual's therapeutic journey is unique. Through a blend of client-centered, self-compassion, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, I am dedicated to helping mothers cultivate emotional well-being, find a sense of balance, and thrive in their role as mothers.
